Hello!!!
Well this was the day that Dale and I ventured out on our own, this was huge! We had enough Chinese to get us to a subway station and walked the rest of the way! Once we got to the Bund area on East Nanjing Road, I went to take picutres and couldn't!! UGH, NO MEMORY CARD!
We walked for about 30 minutes through malls and shops and finally found an electronic store, THANK GOODNESS!

Another reason why an English speaking American would very easily get lost. Glad we knew where we were going...
This was in the British Concession area. All of the buildings are incredible, they have all been well maintained and most are hotels or restaurants now.

We settled with a Chinese restaurant, below is a beef with sauteed onions and peppers. Best dish!
This was the BEST BEST BEST dish of green beans I have every had! They
had a seasoning and lamb meat . I can't wait to try making them!

Jing'an Temple
The current temple was rebuilt once in the Qing Dynasty. It is currently undergoing renovation.
Is this fitting or is it just me??
Not sure I mentioned the traffic in China but it is CRAZY! Traffic rules are only suggestions...

izabeth and I made supper upon returning to the apartment.
This dish is called Chicken Tikki Masala
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into large bite-size pieces and lightly salted with kosher salt
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 large white onion, chopped
4 large cloves of garlic, minced
1 to 2 inches of ginger root, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
1 28 ounce can of tomato sauce puree
2 tablespoons ground turmeric
2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons garam masala
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 cup Greek yogurt
Kosher salt to taste
Fresh cilantro to garnish
In large, heavy pot over medium heat saute the onions in oil
until caramelized. Add garlic and ginger and cook for about
one minute longer. Add tomato puree, turmeric, cumin,
garam masala, and cayenne pepper and stir to combine.
Taste and salt if needed. Cook until mixture is hot and
bubbling.
Add chicken and cook over low-medium heat for 15 to 20
minutes stirring occasionally until chicken is cooked through.
Stir in yogurt - mixture will turn a vibrant orange. Serve over
rice with lots of cilantro to garnish.
